As a follower of Jesus, we are called to many things. One of the basics of this relationship with God is through communication in prayer.
What does prayer look like?
Luke 3:21 – “Now when all the people were baptized, Jesus was also baptized, and while He was praying, heaven was opened,”
Luke 3:22 – “and the Holy Spirit descended upon Him in bodily form like a dove, and a voice came out of heaven, “You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased.””
Luke 5:16 – “But Jesus Himself would often slip away to the wilderness and pray.”
Luke 6:12 – “It was at this time that He went off to the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer to God.”
Luke 9:16 – “Then He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to heaven, He blessed them, and broke them, and kept giving them to the disciples to set before the people.”
Luke 11:1 – “It happened that while Jesus was praying in a certain place, after He had finished, one of His disciples said to Him, “Lord, teach us to pray just as John also taught his disciples.””
Luke 11:2 – “And He said to them, “When you pray, say: ‘ Father, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come.”
Mark 1:35 – “In the early morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house, and went away to a secluded place, and was praying there.”
John 11:41 – “So they removed the stone. Then Jesus raised His eyes, and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.”
John 17:1 – “Jesus spoke these things; and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that the Son may glorify You,”
Matthew 14:19 – “Ordering the people to sit down on the grass, He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up toward heaven, He blessed the food, and breaking the loaves He gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds,”
Matthew 14:23 – “After He had sent the crowds away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray; and when it was evening, He was there alone.”
Acts 7:55 – “But being full of the Holy Spirit, he gazed intently into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God;”
Isaiah 40:26 – “Lift up your eyes on high And see who has created these stars, The One who leads forth their host by number, He calls them all by name; Because of the greatness of His might and the strength of His power, Not one of them is missing.”
Daniel 7:13 – ““I kept looking in the night visions, And behold, with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, And He came up to the Ancient of Days And was presented before Him.”
Hebrews 4:16 – “Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”
Isaiah 40:9 – “Get yourself up on a high mountain, O Zion, bearer of good news, Lift up your voice mightily, O Jerusalem, bearer of good news; Lift it up, do not fear. Say to the cities of Judah, “Here is your God!””
Isaiah 51:6 – “Lift up your eyes to the sky, Then look to the earth beneath; For the sky will vanish like smoke, And the earth will wear out like a garment And its inhabitants will die in like manner; But My salvation will be forever, And My righteousness will not wane.”
Psalms 121:1 – “I will lift up my eyes to the mountains; From where shall my help come?”
Psalms 123:1 – “To You I lift up my eyes, O You who are enthroned in the heavens!”
Psalms 123:2 – “Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress, So our eyes look to the Lord our God, Until He is gracious to us.”
1 Chronicles 21:16 – “Then David lifted up his eyes and saw the angel of the Lord standing between earth and heaven, with his drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders, covered with sackcloth, fell on their faces.”

Zechariah 6:1 – “Now I lifted up my eyes again and looked, and behold, four chariots were coming forth from between the two mountains; and the mountains were bronze mountains.”
DO NOT worship the heaven, the sun, moon, stars, host of heaven, but worship the Lord.
Deuteronomy 4:19 – “And beware not to lift up your eyes to heaven and see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of heaven, and be drawn away and worship them and serve them, those which the Lord your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven.”
This is not referencing prayer but rather make sure you are only worshipping the Lord your God.
